Design Background and Challenge

Design Background and Challenge

“Easy Aid” is a product designed for people, who need to inject medicine by themselves such as diabetic, hemophiliacs and so on. Those patients usually need to inject the medicine into the veins in arms, however, it quite hard for patients to stick aids on their arms by using one hand. Meanwhile, these kinds of patients are usually have the problems of coagulation, therefore, they are the people who really need aids to stop bleeding and avoid the bacterial infections.

Design Background and Challenge

The biggest challenge for “Easy Aid” must be how to let users stick the “Easy Aid” by only using one hand. Compared with traditional bandage aid, this new design add a transparent plastic gasket on the backside of bandage. The detailed steps about how to use “Easy Aid” would be described in the following paragraph.

Using process

Using process

First of all, user needs to tear the protective film up, then, using two fingers to clip the gasket, followed by targeting on the wound and giving force to the plastic gasket to make a curve, which can help user accurately stick the “Easy Aid” on the wound. Finally, separating the plastic gasket from the bandage, which is the last step to achieve the processes of using “Easy Aid”.

Material

Material

On the other, the plastic gaskets and packages would use Polylactide (PLA) as material, which can easily be decomposed. Therefore, “Easy Aid” would be more convenient than traditional bandage aid and would not destroy our environment.
